“Unveiling the Artistry: Tabacalera S.L.U.’s Exquisite Tauromaquia Edition Honors Bullfighters with Limited Release Montecristo #2
The Spanish Habanos distributor Tabacalera S.L.U. is the distributor with the most special releases, such as two different releases of aged cigars in limited edition ceramic jars annually and the Tauromaquia, a release to pay tribute to the famous bullfighters.
The fifth instalment of the Tauromaquia follows the previous versions with a lacquered box and colourful sketches of the bullfighters. This year the chosen bullfighter is José Luis Mazzantini y Eguía, a fighter from the 1800s. The cigar is a Montecristo #2 with an added foot band. A box has a retail price of 300 euros, making each cigar 30 euros. It is a normal regular production line, but the foot band and the special box make it 40% more expensive than the same cigar in its regular packaging. It proves that packaging does play a big part in the perceived value of the cigar and that people fall for a pretty box. Only 1000 boxes are available.
