Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co. Announces Line Extensions: 2012 Sumatra and Leaf by Oscar 10th Anniversary Criollo

June 8, 2023 Inspector L 2 min read

Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co. will be introducing a line extension to the 2012 Oscar Sumatra and a new line, Leaf by Oscar 10th Anniversary Criollo.

The 2012 was released in 2012 and was the first line from the company. Now there is a Sumatra version that joins the Corojo, Maduro, Connecticut and Barber Pole in three box pressed vitolas. The 4×52 Robusto, 6×52 Toro and 6×60 Sixty are made with Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Honduran binder and fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua.

Another new offering is the Leaf by Oscar 10th Anniversary Criollo. The Honduran puro will be available as a 6×52 Toro and a 6×60 Sixty.

The Leaf by Oscar line was created by “Island” Jim Robinson and Oscar Valladares as a house cigar for Robinson’s Leaf & Bean stores in Pittsburgh, Pa. The quality of the cigar and the distinctive packaging in a tobacco leaf made the cigar very popular and it became a worldwide available cigar, now available in Connecticut, Corojo, Maduro and Sumatra wrappers in different sizes.

Both the 2012 Sumatra Box Pressed and the Leaf by Oscar 10th Anniversary Criollo are made at Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co.’s factory in Danlí, Honduras, both are regular production lines.
