Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Unveils Polpetta: From Limited Event Only to Regular Production Cigar
Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust has been using the Polpetta as an event only cigar for a while now but the 4×48 mixed filler Polpetta will now become a regular production cigar. The blend remains the same, with clippings from the Mi Querida, Mi Querida Trigui Traca and Umbagog in the filler, a Mexican San Andres binder and Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The factory will remain NACSA in Estelí, Nicaragua.
The Polpetta will come in boxes of 25 sticks and will ship to retailers in August. “Polpetta is not a traditional sandwich cigar – (it) has a specific, consistent blend,” said Steve Saka, “In addition to the table cuts, we also incorporate some long leaf filler tripa – so it is a far better grade and hybrid style of making this type of cigar. It is an improvement of the process I pioneered many years ago.”
The Polpetta will be replaced with the Mi Querida Green PataPerro, an 8 1/2 x 52 Parejo packaged in a two-count coffin as an event exclusive cigar.
