Pi Synesthesia Red: Exploring the Flavors of Color with Tim Ozgener and Ernesto Perez Carrillo
What does a colour taste like is a question Tim Ozgener asked himself. And he asked consumers as well. The answers he got for the colour yellow were incorporated into the blend of the Pi Synesthesia Yellow. This year, Ozgener decided to go with the colour Red, and that resulted in a cigar with more heat, inspired by red peppers and hot sauces.
Ozgener reached out to his long-time friend Ernesto Perez Carrillo for the blending and fabrication of the cigars. The end result is a cigar with Nicaraguan filler, Nicaraguan binder and an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. “It’s one of these cigars that starts off with a definitive bang. It’s got a bit of a sneaky element to it. You think it’s calming down, but it’s stronger than you think. This cigar, you want to smoke it after you eat something. It’s not a morning cigar.”
The cigars will debut at the PCA Convention & Trade Show in two weeks’ time. The production is limited to 2,500 boxes of 12 cigars. The cigars itself are 6×52 Toros.
