Maya Selva Cigars Unveils Exciting New Releases: Año del Dragón 2024 and More
Maya Selva Cigars is generating waves in the international cigar market with its latest releases, set to grace stateside retailers in the coming month. The spotlight of this unveiling is the Año del Dragón 2024, prominently featured at the InterTabac 2023 trade fair in Dortmund, Germany. This celebratory release commemorates the impending Lunar New Year and has already made its debut in Europe and Asia, with U.S. retailers slated to receive deliveries by the end of November.
The Año del Dragón 2024 stands as a Honduran puro, featuring a Jamastrán wrapper, Azacualpa and Olancho binders, and a blend of Honduran tobaccos, creating a robust and flavorful profile. Notable aromas of cedar and nuts accentuate its overall character. This exceptional offering is presented in a 7 1/2 x 52 double corona vitola, priced at $24.50 per cigar or $245 for a box of 10. Manufactured at Plasencia’s Tabacos de Oriente factory in Honduras, a total of 2,024 boxes have been produced for worldwide distribution.
The boxes are adorned with a vibrant red and gold color scheme, fusing traditional Chinese patterns with Mayan hieroglyphics. This design is a nod to the spiritual significance of animal symbolism in both Chinese and Mayan cultures, where every individual is believed to have a guiding “nahual” or spirit animal.
Maya Selva Cigars’ commitment to celebrating the Lunar New Year is not new, as they initiated the series in 2018 with the Maya Selva Year of the Pig.
In addition to the Año del Dragón, the Flor de Selva Maduro line has expanded to include a 6 x 52 toro as a regular production vitola, priced at $14 per cigar or $280 for a box of 20. Featuring a Jamastrán Valley wrapper and binder from Honduras, the undisclosed varietals grown in Honduras make up the fillers. This cigar is hailed as well-balanced, offering a medium to full-bodied experience, and is now available to retailers in both Europe and the United States.
To celebrate the new Flor de Selva Toro Maduro Toro, the company has curated the Flor de Selva Trío Toro sampler, which includes the latest release, the Flor de Selva line that debuted in June, and the Flor de Selva No. 20 Toro from Fall 2022. This sampler, priced at $43.50, is now accessible to retailers in Europe and Asia and is set to reach U.S. retailers by the end of November.
Lastly, the Flor de Selva Selvita, now the smallest vitola in the line, has started making its way to non-U.S. markets. This petite 4 x 30 cigar is designed to be the ideal companion for a brief respite or a leisurely stroll in any season. The blend features a Honduran-grown, Connecticut-seed wrapper and undisclosed Honduran varietals for the fillers, offering a medium-bodied profile with classic woody and spicy undertones. The Selvita is available in a 10-count tin, priced at approximately $38, with a U.S. release date yet to be announced. Maya Selva Cigars continues to captivate cigar enthusiasts with its diverse and enticing range of offerings, setting the stage for an exciting season of discovery.
