ADV & McKay’s La Llorona Expands Exclusive Lineup with New Corona Size

November 30, 2023 Inspector Y 2 min read

In 2022, ADV & McKay, the cigar company from Marcel Knobel and Henderson Ventura, introduced a novel line named La Llorona, drawing inspiration from the character in Latin American folklore known as the crying woman. In this rendition, La Llorona is portrayed as a widow on a quest to hunt and eliminate pirates, intricately woven into the broader ADVentura narrative. The ADVentura storyline unfolds the adventures of ADVentura and his companion McKay—fictional explorers embarking on diverse expeditions, missions, and escapades around the globe.

Beyond being a mere product launch, La Llorona holds a distinct purpose as a reward for the company’s top accounts. It serves as a token of appreciation for their unwavering support and loyalty. This exclusive cigar is intentionally made available to select accounts, fostering interest and demand among their customer base.

The La Llorona blend features an Ecuadorian wrapper, Dominican binder, and fillers sourced from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Initially introduced in a 5 x 50 robusto vitola, a second size was unveiled at the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show held this past summer.

The newly showcased size is a 6 x 44 corona, priced at $16 per cigar and $160 for a box of 10 cigars, with production strictly limited to 1,000 boxes. This deliberate limitation adds an element of exclusivity, contributing to the appeal of La Llorona among cigar enthusiasts. The unique blend, coupled with the limited availability, positions La Llorona as a sought-after and distinctive addition to the ADV & McKay portfolio.
