Rocky Patel Launches Dark Star: A Stellar Blend with Paraguayan Twist
Rocky Patel introduces the Dark Star, a noteworthy addition to their repertoire despite its relatively modest wrapper darkness. What sets this cigar apart is the incorporation of a filler tobacco sourced from Paraguay—a seed transplanted to Honduras and cultivated by the esteemed Plasencia family. Notably, this marks the inaugural use of Paraguayan tobacco in a Rocky Patel blend.
Complementing the Paraguayan seed, the filler blend features tobaccos hailing from the Jamastran Valley in Honduras and Jalapa, Nicaragua. The Dark Star is encased in a corojo-seed binder, also cultivated in Honduras, and a Honduran binder. Produced at Plasencia’s El Paraiso factory in Honduras, the cigar adheres to the high standards synonymous with Rocky Patel creations.
Scheduled for shipping imminently, the Dark Star debuts in four regular production sizes, catering to a range of preferences and cigar experiences. The available options include the Short Star (4 x 60) priced at $11.25 per cigar or $225 per box of 20, the Robusto (5 1/2 x 50) at $10.50 per cigar or $210 per box, the Toro (6 x 52) priced at $11.50 per cigar or $230 per box, and the Sixty (6 x 60) available at $12.50 per cigar or $250 per box.
Described as medium-bodied, the Dark Star boasts a flavour profile characterized by notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and subtle hints of dried fruit. This carefully crafted blend reflects Rocky Patel’s commitment to delivering a nuanced and satisfying smoking experience.
The Dark Star launch is the prelude to a duo of new lines from Rocky Patel poised to grace shelves in the coming weeks. Following in the footsteps of Dark Star, Conviction, a $100 cigar distinguished by elaborate metal packaging, is set to commence shipping the following week, further expanding Rocky Patel’s diverse and innovative cigar offerings.
