RoMa Craft Tobac Introduces Limited-Edition CroMagnon Clovis Barber-Pole Cigar

June 17, 2024 Inspector X 2 min read

Boutique cigarmaker RoMa Craft Tobac has unveiled a new, limited-production iteration of its CroMagnon line, named Clovis. This cigar features a visually striking barber-pole construction, characterized by its alternating wrappers: a dark Pennsylvania broadleaf and a light green Ecuador candela. This unique design creates a captivating contrast, making the cigar particularly eye-catching. Clovis started shipping last week and is now available in shops.

The Clovis cigar measures 5 inches in length with a 56 ring gauge, mirroring the dimensions of the EMH size from the regular CroMagnon line. Apart from its distinctive candela swirl, Clovis shares the same blend as the rest of the line. It is priced at $13.15 per cigar and is packaged in boxes of 24. Production is notably limited to around 500 boxes annually, ensuring its exclusivity.

Earlier this year, the regular-production CroMagnon line, which includes seven different sizes, underwent a blend update. The company transitioned to a Pennsylvania broadleaf wrapper, replacing the previous Connecticut broadleaf. This change was necessitated by difficulties in consistently sourcing enough Connecticut broadleaf. Additionally, the internal blend was modified: a Sumatra-seed hybrid binder was introduced to replace Cameroon, and some Dominican leaf was added to the Nicaraguan fillers.

RoMa Craft Tobac describes the strength of these cigars as medium-full, appealing to those who enjoy robust flavours. The CroMagnon line, including Clovis, is produced at the company’s Nica Sueño factory located in Estelí, Nicaragua. This facility is known for its high-quality production and meticulous craftsmanship, ensuring that each cigar meets the brand’s exacting standards.

RoMa Craft Tobac’s decision to introduce Clovis adds a fresh and innovative option to their line-up, while the blend update of the regular CroMagnon line reflects the company’s commitment to adapting and maintaining quality in response to sourcing challenges. This new release not only offers cigar enthusiasts a unique aesthetic experience but also continues the brand’s tradition of delivering complex and satisfying flavours.
