Oliva Serie V TAA Exclusive Set to Ship Next Month
For the first time in its history, Oliva Cigars is releasing a Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) exclusive cigar. The Oliva Serie V TAA Exclusive is a 7 x 54 torpedo, featuring the same blend as the regular Serie V line, which includes an Ecuadorian wrapper and Nicaraguan tobacco, with ligero sourced from the Jalapa Valley.
The cigar will be priced at $14.33 each, with boxes of 12 cigars available for $172. Production is limited to just 2,000 boxes, and they will be shipped next month to retailers who are members of the TAA.
The TAA is an exclusive membership group of around 80 retailers and 40 manufacturers. This organisation holds an annual convention to discuss industry issues, and also hosts a trade show, where retailers can secure exclusive products and deals through collective purchasing. This year’s meeting, held in Aruba from 20-24 October, includes two major selling events. One of these is the Dream Machine, where retailers collaborate to obtain bulk discounts, and the other is a more traditional trade show format.
Around a dozen manufacturers release TAA exclusive cigars under the TAA Exclusive Series Program (ESP), with a portion of the sales supporting the organisation. Each manufacturer contributes at least $1 per cigar sold, up from the previous 50-cent contribution.
Oliva joins other major cigar brands such as CLE, Crowned Heads, E.P. Carrillo, Espinosa, and Joya de Nicaragua in offering new releases as part of the TAA ESP series for 2024.
