Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Announces “Year of the Duque” Cigar for 2025

November 4, 2024 Inspector X 2 min read

Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust is set to launch a unique release for 2025 with its “Year of the Duque” cigar. While many cigar brands are preparing to honour the Chinese Zodiac’s Year of the Snake, Dunbarton has chosen a different path, celebrating an individual rather than a symbol. This limited-edition cigar honours Chris Duque, a long-time volunteer and ardent supporter of the company, known for his dedication to promoting the brand at events, trade shows, and online.

Specific details about the blend are yet to be revealed, but the Year of the Duque will be a 4 3/4 x 48 parejo, available in a production run of just 2,000 boxes, each containing 14 cigars. Founder Steve Saka shared on social media that Duque embodies the spirit of the cigar community—selfless, generous, and an unwavering friend. Saka praised Duque’s commitment, saying, “He genuinely represents the very best amongst us in the cigar community.” Duque’s years of voluntary support for Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust make him a fitting honouree for this inaugural release.

The Year of the Duque cigar is being crafted at Fábrica de Tabacos Joya de Nicaragua S.A., known for its expertise in premium cigar production. This release marks the beginning of a new annual tradition for Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, as each year the company will dedicate a limited-edition cigar to a notable individual within its community.

Boxes of the Year of the Duque are expected to ship to retailers in March 2025, giving cigar aficionados a special opportunity to own a piece of this unique tribute series.
