J.C. Newman Cigar Co. Releases Final 2024 Batch of The American and Angel Cuesta Cigars
Just in time for Veteran’s Day, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. has shipped its final 2024 release of The American and Angel Cuesta cigars. These premium, hand-rolled cigars from the historic El Reloj factory in Tampa, Florida, are now available at 104 top cigar retailers across 35 states.
Honouring American Cigar Tradition
In celebration of Veteran’s Day, J.C. Newman is offering its last 2024 batch of The American and Angel Cuesta cigars. Drew Newman, the fourth-generation owner, highlighted the importance of this release, stating, “As an American family business, we are proud to keep the tradition of American cigarmaking alive with these premium releases.”
The Legacy of El Reloj
Built in 1910, the El Reloj factory was once the largest cigar factory in the world. Today, it remains the last large cigar factory still operational in the United States. Skilled artisans hand roll a limited number of cigars daily, making no more than 80 cigars per day. The factory also serves as a prime destination for cigar enthusiasts, offering guided tours, a cigar museum, and hands-on classes in cigar rolling and tobacco tasting.
The American: A Celebration of American Craftsmanship
The American cigar is a symbol of American craftsmanship, using 100% heirloom American tobaccos. It features a rare Florida Sun Grown wrapper, a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and fillers from Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Every component, from the cigar box to the bands, is proudly made in the USA. This dedication to quality has earned The American numerous accolades, including Cigar Journal’s Cigar Trophy for Best Cigar from the United States for three consecutive years (2021-2023).
Angel Cuesta: A Royal Legacy
Originally created as the official cigar for King Alfonso XIII of Spain, Angel Cuesta cigars are a nod to luxury and elegance. These cigars feature an Ecuador Havana Rosado wrapper, with a blend of aged binder and filler tobaccos from three continents. The distinctive pigtail cap, resembling an angel’s halo, adds a unique touch. In 2024, Angel Cuesta received the Cigar Trophy for Best Boutique Cigar from the United States, further solidifying its premium status.
Conclusion
The final 2024 release of The American and Angel Cuesta cigars by J.C. Newman is a tribute to the enduring legacy of American cigarmaking. With their rich history and exceptional quality, these cigars are a must-try for aficionados looking to experience a piece of American heritage.
