The H1: A Leap in Cigar Technology
Since its inception, Hulecos has dedicated itself to addressing the challenge of maintaining optimal moisture levels in cigars. Known as the official certifier of cigars at the Cigar Smokers Worldwide Championship, Hulecos introduces the H1, a patented device that measures temperature and relative humidity within cigars through a precision needle. This marks a significant milestone in their research and development efforts.
Understanding Cigar Preservation
As Hulecos moves into 2024, they highlight the importance of understanding that relative humidity alone does not provide a full picture of cigar preservation. Temperature plays a critical role, and the H1 device accounts for this interaction. Cigars are hygroscopic, meaning their behaviour regarding water in the air is unique. The HULECOS Moisture Cigar Content (HMC2) index offers an accurate assessment of moisture levels tailored specifically to cigars.
Dual-Mode Functionality
The H1 features advanced software with two modes: Preservation and Tasting. In ‘Preservation’ mode, used within a humidor, it displays crucial data such as temperature, relative humidity, and calculated cigar moisture levels. This information enables users to make informed adjustments to the humidor’s environment, adhering to the 70/70 rule or personal preferences.
In ‘Tasting’ mode, the H1 is utilised outside the humidor to evaluate cigars before smoking. This ensures they are in perfect condition for an optimal experience, all while guaranteeing the cigar remains undamaged.
Availability and Pricing
Set to launch in December 2024, the H1 will be available through select cigar lounges and retail outlets participating in the “Hulecos Certified Reseller” programme. The sleek black aluminium model starts at 490 EURO, offering cigar enthusiasts a premium tool for perfect cigar care.
