West Tampa’s Circle of Life Cigars Finally Shipping

January 6, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

After months of delay, West Tampa Tobacco Co.’s latest release, the Circle of Life, is set to arrive in stores next week. Originally planned for May, the launch was postponed due to complications in box production, but the wait is finally over.

The Circle of Life line represents a meaningful collaboration and reunion for West Tampa co-founder Rick Rodriguez. While West Tampa’s core lines—Red, White, and Black—are produced in Nicaragua, this new line was crafted in the Dominican Republic at Casa Carrillo, the factory of Rodriguez’s former mentor, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. The two worked together previously during their time at General Cigar Co., making this project a nostalgic return to their shared roots.

The blend of Circle of Life was initially kept under wraps but has now been revealed. The cigar features an Ecuador Habano Oscuro wrapper paired with an Ecuador Sumatra binder. The filler blend combines tobaccos from Nicaragua’s Jalapa, Condega, and Estelí regions, with an addition of Dominican Corojo ’99 for complexity. This sophisticated combination promises a rich and layered smoking experience.

Available from today, Circle of Life will come in three formats:

  • Robusto: 5 inches by 52 ring gauge, priced at $12.99
  • Toro: 6 inches by 54 ring gauge, priced at $13.99
  • Gigante: 6 inches by 60 ring gauge, priced at $14.99

Each size is sold in boxes of 20. The collaboration between Rodriguez and Perez-Carrillo, along with the use of premium Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos, ensures that the Circle of Life offers something special for cigar enthusiasts. Look for it at your local retailer starting next week.
