Chazz Palminteri’s A Bronx Tale Expands with New Sonny Cigar at PCA 2025
Chazz Palminteri’s A Bronx Tale cigar line is set to introduce a bold new extension this spring—the Sonny, named after Palminteri’s iconic character in the film A Bronx Tale. The new release will debut at the 2025 PCA Convention & Trade Show in mid-April and is expected to ship soon after.
According to Cigar Aficionado, the Sonny cigar is being crafted at the Charles Fairmorn Factory in the Dominican Republic. It features a rich Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper, a Dominican binder, and a blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican filler tobaccos. Developed in collaboration with Dean Parsons of Epic Cigars and Paul DiSilvio of La Casa Grande Cigars in The Bronx, N.Y., the Sonny blend is described as a full-bodied, bolder alternative to the Calogero line that was launched in 2024.
The Sonny will be available in a single 6 x 54 Toro vitola, with a price of $25 per cigar and $300 for a box of 12. The initial production is limited to 1,000 numbered boxes, but there is potential for it to become a regular production line depending on demand.
Palminteri first entered the premium cigar market in 2023 with the launch of A Bronx Tale, named after his acclaimed one-man show, which later became a 1993 film directed by Robert De Niro. The Sonny cigar continues his passion for blending storytelling and tobacco craftsmanship, offering aficionados a unique smoking experience rooted in nostalgia and quality.
A Bronx Tale cigars are distributed by Zander-Greg Inc. and are expected to garner significant attention at this year’s PCA convention.
