La Aurora Launches New Cigar – La Aurora Small Batch Lot No. 006 Ambassador
A Unique Cigar Release from La Aurora
The oldest premium cigarmaker in the Dominican Republic is launching an unconventional new cigar. La Aurora’s Small Batch Lot No. 006 Ambassador not only features a shaggy foot but is also wrapped in a rope of tobacco that is meant to be smoked along with the cigar itself.
A Revolutionary Design
This distinct creation comes from La Aurora’s master blender, Manuel Inoa, who states that these cigars were crafted in 2011. Several key features make the Small Batch Lot No. 006 Ambassador stand out:
• Shaggy Foot: The cigar has exposed binder and filler at the foot, a style rarely seen in La Aurora’s portfolio.
• Tobacco Rope: A rope of Mexican San Andrés tobacco encircles the wrapper and is intended to be smoked, contributing to a unique flavour profile with notes of pepper and sweetness.
• Limited Availability: With only 137 boxes produced (1,370 cigars in total), this release is exceptionally rare.
• Aged Tobacco: These cigars have been aging for 14 years, with some filler tobacco dating back 19 years—an uncommon trait in the cigar industry.
Cigar Specifications & Pricing
The Small Batch Lot No. 006 Ambassador measures 4 1/2 inches by 60 ring gauge at its widest point. It features a Nicaraguan wrapper and binder, while the filler is a blend of Pennsylvanian, Dominican, and Nicaraguan tobaccos.
Each cigar is priced at $16.50, with boxes retailing for $165. Although this is the sixth release in La Aurora’s Small Batch series, not all editions have made it to U.S. markets. However, Lot No. 006 is currently shipping to U.S. retailers, offering aficionados a rare opportunity to experience this innovative smoke.
