Altadis Unveils Romeo y Julieta 150th Anniversary Cigar
The iconic Romeo y Julieta brand is celebrating its 150th anniversary, and Altadis U.S.A. has crafted a special cigar to mark the occasion. Made with a premium “Hall of Fame blend,” the Romeo y Julieta 150th Anniversary cigar features tobaccos sourced from some of the industry’s most renowned growers.
Rafael Nodal, vice president of product capability for Altadis U.S.A., highlighted the exclusive selection of tobaccos for this celebratory release. The wrapper is an Ecuadoran Sumatra, cultivated and fermented by A.J. Fernandez. The binder is a San Andrés leaf from the esteemed Turrent family, while the filler blend consists of Peruvian and Honduran tobaccos from the Plasencia family, complemented by Dominican filler from José Mendez & Co.
Produced in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera de Garcia, this commemorative release comes in three distinct sizes: Balconet (6 x 54) with an MSRP of $27, Prologue (5 x 50) at $25, and Crescendo (7 x 50) priced at $28. Each cigar is housed in an elegant 16-count box, designed specifically for this milestone occasion.
Cigar enthusiasts attending the ProCigar Festival in the Dominican Republic this month will get an exclusive first look at the Romeo y Julieta 150th Anniversary cigars. Following this, they will be showcased at the PCA trade show in New Orleans in April, with distribution commencing immediately after the event concludes.
With its refined blend and meticulous craftsmanship, the Romeo y Julieta 150th Anniversary cigar stands as a fitting tribute to one of the most revered names in the world of premium cigars.
