Gold Star has been unearthed as a distinguished line extension in United Cigars’ expanding portfolio. Handcrafted at the renowned Tabacalera William Ventura Cigar Factory in the Dominican Republic, this cigar line first debuted in 1995 before lying dormant for decades. Its revival in 2024 as a limited-edition release raised over $30,000 for the Navy SEAL Gold Star Program, marking a momentous return. Now, Gold Star is set for ongoing production, maintaining its original iconic gold star symbol while embracing a refreshed blend and style that reflect United Cigars’ dedication to tradition and excellence.
Gold Star is available in three popular sizes: Robusto (5 x 52), Toro (6 x 54), and Gordo (6 ½ x 60). Each vitola showcases a carefully curated blend of Dominican Ligeros, Criollo ’98, Corojo ‘98, and Connecticut Broadleaf fillers, delivering a bold and flavourful smoking experience. A Sumatra binder ensures balance, while a premium Ecuador Habano 2000 Intermedio wrapper from the famed Quevedo region completes the cigar’s refined aesthetic and profile.
Offering a medium-bodied experience, Gold Star caters to both seasoned aficionados and those seeking a sophisticated, approachable smoke. Aged for 365 days, the blend achieves a balanced complexity without overwhelming the palate. The flavour profile features rich notes of cocoa, almond, honey, and cinnamon spice, creating a harmonious and indulgent smoking session with every draw. The luxurious mouthfeel, complemented by a velvety smooth draw, ensures an elegant yet robust experience.

Presented in sophisticated black matte boxes of 20 cigars, each bearing the signature Gold Star logo, this line is set to launch in March 2025 through select retailers. A wider release will follow at the PCA trade show in New Orleans. Pricing is positioned competitively: Robusto ($12.00), Toro ($13.00), and Gordo ($14.00).
