Conor McGregor Enters the Cigar Industry with Notorious Cigars

March 5, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

UFC superstar and former champion Conor McGregor has officially stepped into the cigar industry, unveiling Notorious Cigars. Pre-orders for the brand’s debut release are now live on the company’s website, with shipments expected to begin in mid-to-late April.

The first cigar from Notorious Cigars is a 6 x 50 toro, featuring a four-year-aged Ecuadorian Habano 2000 Rosado Oscuro wrapper. Beneath it lies a Mexican San Andrés binder and a filler blend that incorporates premium tobaccos from Nicaragua’s Jalapa Valley and the San Victor and Villa González regions of the Dominican Republic. These cigars are crafted by MJ Frias in the Dominican Republic, ensuring a refined smoking experience.

Pricing for Notorious Cigars is set at $140 for a box of 10 cigars, making it a premium-priced entry into the market. While the cigars are currently only available for U.S. customers, the company has confirmed that international shipping will be introduced in the near future.

McGregor is no stranger to launching luxury brands. In 2019, he introduced Proper Twelve Whiskey, which received mixed reviews yet proved to be an enormous commercial success. Just two years later, he sold the brand to Proximo Spirits for a staggering $600 million. Given this track record, one can’t help but wonder if Notorious Cigars is another strategic move towards building and flipping a high-value brand in the premium cigar market.

With McGregor’s influence and the growing global demand for boutique cigars, Notorious Cigars could quickly become a heavyweight contender in the industry, but for that to happen, McGregor needs to create a good product and convince cigar smokers that he’s one of them. Phonies are ousted quickly in the cigar industry.
