OZ Family Cigars to Launch Karatoba at PCA 2025
OZ Family Cigars is set to debut its fourth cigar brand, Karatoba, at the PCA trade show in New Orleans in just a few weeks. Crafted in Nicaragua by Nicaraguan American Cigars S.A. (NACSA), this latest release promises an intricate and evolving smoking experience.
A Complex and Captivating Smoke
Tim Ozgener, the owner of OZ Family Cigars, describes Karatoba as his strongest creation yet, delivering a medium to full-bodied profile. “I really wanted something that not only captures the palate immediately but takes the smoker on a ride of complex and evolving flavours that keep the experience interesting and engaging,” says Ozgener.
Karatoba’s name is a fusion of two significant references. “Kara” is the Turkish word for “dark,” while “Toba” alludes to Indonesia’s Lake Toba, a site formed by one of the most powerful volcanic eruptions in Earth’s history. This connection reflects the cigar’s bold and intense character.
Vitolas and Pricing
The Karatoba line will be available in four sizes, with prices ranging from $12 to $13 per cigar:
- Toro – 6 1/2 x 50 ($12.25)
- Robusto – 5 x 52 ($12.00)
- Robusto Extra – 5 1/2 x 55 ($12.75)
- Gordo – 6 x 60 ($13.00)
Each size will be packaged in boxes of 21 cigars, with shipping scheduled to begin in May 2025.
