Davidoff Enhances Zino Nicaragua Line with New Packaging Options

March 28, 2025 Inspector L 2 min read

Davidoff has announced updates to its Zino Nicaragua line, introducing new packaging options for several vitolas. These changes are designed to provide cigar enthusiasts with greater convenience and flexibility, catering to both traditional smokers and those seeking more portable solutions.

Expanded Packaging Choices

Two vitolas in the Zino Nicaragua range—the Robusto (5 x 54) and Toro (6 x 50)—will now be available in cardboard packs of five cigars, adding to their existing packaging options. These two sizes can now be purchased in three different formats:

  • Freshpacks of four cigars
  • Cardboard packs of five cigars
  • Boxes of 25 cigars

Additionally, the Zino Nicaragua Half Corona (4 x 44) will now be offered in wooden boxes of 25 cigars. Notably, these cigars will come with a cap, differentiating them from the pre-cut Half Coronas previously available in metal tins of five. Davidoff will continue to offer both the capped and pre-cut versions, ensuring a choice for aficionados.

“In response to the wishes of our more traditional aficionados, we have decided to offer our immensely popular Half Corona in both pre-cut and uncut versions, with the uncut version also available in wooden boxes,” said Edward Simon, Chief Marketing Officer at Oettinger Davidoff. “We have also added the option of a handy carton pack of five for our Robusto and Toro cigars. I am convinced that these updates will serve our aficionados well in providing even more convenience and flexibility in their cigar enjoyment – anywhere, anytime.”

The Zino Nicaragua Blend

The Zino Nicaragua line, which was revamped in 2021, features a carefully curated blend. It uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, a Nicaraguan seco binder, and a filler combination that includes two tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, two from Honduras, and one from Ometepe, Nicaragua. The cigars are produced at Diadema Cigars de Honduras S.A., widely known as the Camacho factory. So basically, this cigar is Honduran with Ecuadorian wrapper and does not deserve to use Nicaragua in its name with only 20% of its tobacco hailing from the world leading premium cigar producing country.

Availability

Davidoff has confirmed that these new packaging options will be available from April 17, 2025. Cigar enthusiasts can look forward to these enhanced choices, providing new ways to enjoy Zino Nicaragua cigars, whether at home or on the go.
