Cigar Kingdom Unveils New House Blends to Cater to Asian Palates

April 1, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

Cigar Kingdom, a well-respected Hong Kong-based cigar retailer, has launched its own line of cigars to cater to the evolving tastes of Asian aficionados. The brand’s expansion reflects a decade of market insights and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

A Legacy of Excellence

Founded in 2013 by Alexander Wong, Cigar Kingdom began as a Cuban cigar specialist before broadening its portfolio to include premium New World brands. Over the years, the business has grown significantly, now operating four retail locations across Hong Kong. Wong’s children, Rosanne and Auston, have since joined the company, contributing to its expansion and evolution. As part of this transformation, the company is set to rebrand as House of CKC.

Data-Driven Development

Recognising a growing gap in the market for cigars tailored to Asian palates, Cigar Kingdom undertook extensive research to develop its new line. In early 2023, the company surveyed 150-200 core customers, gathering valuable insights into preferred flavour profiles, ideal sizes, intensity levels, and key factors influencing cigar selection. This qualitative data was complemented by over a decade’s worth of purchasing trends from its 50,000+ active members.

We combined survey results with long-term sales data to create a product range that truly reflects the preferences of our clientele in Hong Kong and the broader APAC region,” said Rosanne Wong.

The Chess-Themed Cigar Line

Guided by Alexander Wong’s expertise, the new line consists of four distinct offerings:
• The King: A toro-sized, medium-to-full-bodied cigar featuring a Criollo San Andrés Triple Maduro wrapperwith Criollo San Andrés and Viso Habano Nicaragua binder and fillers.
• The Bishop: A medium-to-full-bodied blend available in robusto and petit corona vitolas, with a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper, Dominican and Pennsylvania Ligero filler, and Dominican binders.
• The Knight: A milder robusto crafted with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Dominican Olor filler, and Dominican binder.
• The Rook: A bold and complex robusto and petit corona blend, wrapped in Brazilian Arapiraca, with Dominican Olor and Brazilian Mata Fina fillers.

Early reception has been promising, with The Knight and The Bishop earning praise from customers, while The King’slarger format appeals to those seeking a longer smoking experience. To complete the chess-themed series, Queen and Pawn cigars are currently in development.

As House of CKC continues to refine its offerings, this new line represents a thoughtful blend of tradition and innovation, ensuring cigar enthusiasts across Asia have access to cigars crafted specifically for their tastes.
