Ramón Allones Absolutos EL 2024 Set for Swiss Launch This April
Cuban cigar aficionados, take note: the highly anticipated Ramón Allones Absolutos Edición Limitada (EL) 2024 will officially debut in Switzerland later this month. The launch begins 23 April at La Casa del Habano locations, followed by a wider release across Swiss retailers on 30 April.
A New Vitola for a Legendary Brand
The Absolutos introduces an entirely new vitola to the Cuban portfolio—the Nuevos, a grand corona measuring 6 3/8 inches (156mm) x 47 ring gauge. Each cigar is priced at CHF 45 (approx. $52.45), with boxes of 20 retailing for CHF 900 (approx. $1,044.88).
As with all Edición Limitada (EL) releases, the Absolutos is produced in limited quantities, though Habanos S.A. typically does not disclose specific production numbers. What is certain is the exclusivity and collectability of the release, bolstered by its unique size and vintage tobacco.
These cigars are crafted from Vuelta Abajo tobacco from Cuba’s esteemed Pinar del Río region. The leaves used in EL releases are aged for a minimum of two years, contributing to the blend’s signature smoothness and depth. As standard with EL cigars, each comes with a secondary “Edición Limitada 2024” band to signify its special status.
A Delayed But Celebrated Release
The Absolutos joins the H. Upmann Magnum Finite and Trinidad Cabildos as one of the three EL cigars for 2024. Interestingly, all three were originally planned as 2022 Edición Limitada releases. They were later reassigned to 2023, before finally being officially confirmed as 2024 editions in an announcement earlier this year.
Global cigar enthusiasts should keep an eye out, as international distribution is expected in the near future, though no firm timetable has been released. With its striking new format and meticulously aged blend, the Ramón Allones Absolutos EL 2024 is poised to become a standout release in the Cuban cigar calendar.
