Constella—the joint venture between Luciano Cigars and Empresa Madeirense de Tabacos S.A.—has added a high-profile new partner: former Major League Baseball standout Adrián González. Alongside this announcement, the company revealed its newest cigar line, The Resilient, which will be showcased at the 2025 PCA Convention & Trade Show in New Orleans.
Crafted in collaboration with González, The Resilient is a 6 x 52 toro featuring an Ecuadorian-grown Colorado H92 wrapper, Costa Rican binder, and a complex filler blend from Peru and Nicaragua. Described as medium-bodied with layered complexity and an elegant finish, the cigar is said to embody the spirit of endurance and transformation. It marks the beginning of a new brand family under the Constella portfolio, which aims to spotlight stories of strength and purpose.
Priced at $24 per cigar, or $480 per 20-count box, the initial production is limited to 1,000 boxes, with additional vitolas planned by the end of 2025. Though the production facility remains undisclosed, Constella confirmed it is the same factory responsible for Élevé, another new release from the brand.
“Resilience is a mindset — it’s what got me through the toughest innings of my life,” said González. “This brand isn’t just about cigars — it’s about honouring the strength we don’t always see, but always feel.”
González, a five-time MLB All-Star with 15 professional seasons under his belt, also represented Mexico at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Since retiring, he’s moved into entrepreneurship with interests in real estate, brewing, hospitality, and now cigars. He previously partnered with Meirelles on the 2020 M.X.S. Adrían Gonzalez El Titan release under ACE Prime.
Constella co-founder Luciano Meirelles added, “This cigar is a tribute to every person who kept going when no one was watching. It’s not about surviving; it’s about becoming stronger.”
The Resilient will be officially introduced at the Luciano Cigars/Constella booth at PCA 2025, held 12–14 April in New Orleans. González is expected to attend in support of the launch. Retail shipments are scheduled to begin in May 2025, with availability through select premium tobacconists.
