Global Premium Cigars to Launch Cachitos Connecticut with Smooth New Blend
Global Premium Cigars (GPC), primarily known for their 1502 branded cigars, is expanding its portfolio with a brand-new offering. This month, the company will introduce the Cachitos Connecticut, a 4 x 50 petit robusto that promises a unique smoking experience with its smooth yet complex flavour profile.
The Cachitos Connecticut features a shade-grown wrapper sourced from the U.S. Connecticut River Valley, known for its mild flavour and smooth texture. Beneath the wrapper lies a blend of premium Nicaraguan tobaccos, creating a balanced and enjoyable smoke. This special blend is crafted at Tabacalera Diamond Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua, under the watchful eye of Enrique Sánchez, founder of GPC. Each cigar will carry an MSRP of $6.20 and will be available in five-pack boxes.
“We’ve spent a lot of time finding the perfect combination of tobaccos to create a Connecticut wrapper blend that is smooth, yet full of complexity and flavour,” said Enrique Sánchez in a recent press release. With the combination of quality tobaccos and expert craftsmanship, the Cachitos Connecticut is set to become a staple for cigar aficionados looking for a refined Connecticut option.
While the Cachitos line originally debuted in 2018 as a Nicaraguan-wrapped cigar, the new Connecticut version offers a softer, smoother experience for those who prefer a milder profile. The new blend is a return to the 4 x 50 vitola format, similar to the earlier versions of the Cachitos line. GPC reintroduced the line in 2019, made at the Diamond factory in Nicaragua, and now offers both the original and Connecticut blends in the same size and packaging.
The Cachitos Connecticut will be featured at the 2025 PCA Convention & Trade Show in New Orleans this week and is expected to begin shipping to retailers later this month. With its attractive price point and exceptional blend, it’s likely to make waves among cigar enthusiasts in search of a smooth, flavourful Connecticut cigar.
