E.P. Carrillo Unveils New Connecticut Line and La Historia Silk at PCA 2025

April 8, 2025 Inspector X 3 min read

At the PCA 2025 Trade Show, E.P. Carrillo will debut two exciting new releases: the Connecticut line from the Essence Series and the limited-edition La Historia Silk. Both cigars showcase the brand’s commitment to quality and innovation in the premium cigar industry.

E.P. Carrillo is set to unveil two major new offerings at the PCA 2025 Trade Show in New Orleans, marking another milestone in the company’s continuous push to push the boundaries of the cigar industry. The first release is the Connecticut line, a new addition to the Essence Series launched by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo in 2024. This series highlights a unique wrapper leaf in each line, and the Connecticut version is designed to appeal to those who enjoy a milder smoking experience. The blend features an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper, a Honduran Criollo ’98 binder, and a mix of Dominican and Honduran filler tobaccos.

The E.P. Carrillo Connecticut line stands out for its distinctive presentation. Unlike the Sumatra and Maduro lines, which are offered in three sizes—Robusto, Toro, and Gordo—the Connecticut line introduces a smaller format, swapping out the Gordo for a more refined option. The three sizes available for this release are Corona (5 1/2 x 44), Robusto (5 x 50), and Toro (6 x 52). With prices ranging from $8.75 for the Corona to $10 for the Toro, the Connecticut line will be available in boxes of 24 and is expected to ship in May 2025.

In addition to the Connecticut line, E.P. Carrillo will also showcase a limited-edition release under the La Historia brand called Silk. The La Historia Silk is a tribute to the women in the cigar industry and is personally blended by Lissette Perez-Carrillo, Ernesto’s wife. The cigar features a round shape, as opposed to the box-pressed format of the core La Historia line, and will be available in a single size—a 6 x 52 Toro.

The La Historia Silk is especially unique as it celebrates the influence of women in the cigar world. The blend features three different wrappers: Mexican San Andrés, Ecuador Connecticut, and Ecuador Havana. A select group of retailers and women cigar enthusiasts have already smoked the different blends, with the winning blend to be announced at the PCA 2025 trade show. The La Historia Silk is limited to only 500 boxes of 10 cigars, with an annual release expected. Pricing for the Silk is still to be determined, but it’s sure to be a coveted release when it ships in the third quarter of 2025.

Both releases highlight E.P. Carrillo’s dedication to craftsmanship, with the Connecticut line providing a smoother, milder option for aficionados, while the La Historia Silk honours women in the industry with an elegant yet powerful blend. These new cigars are sure to add to the brand’s already impressive portfolio and further cement its reputation in the premium cigar market.
