Foundation Cigars Launches Wise Man Lancero Lineup at PCA 2025
Foundation Cigar Company introduces two Lancero vitolas in its Wise Man line—Corojo and Maduro—at PCA 2025. These 7 x 40 cigars promise intensified complexity and refined flavour in a classic format.
Foundation Cigar Company is expanding its acclaimed Wise Man portfolio with two elegant Lancero vitolas, both set to debut at the 2025 PCA Trade Show in New Orleans from April 11–14. Aficionados can expect the Wise Man Corojo Lancero and Wise Man Maduro Lancero to reach select U.S. retailers by Summer/Fall 2025.
Both blends are a tribute to Menelik I, the son of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, reflecting a deep reverence for history, legacy, and the time-honoured craft of cigar making. In the slender 7 x 40 Lancero format, these blends are designed to deliver a more focused, refined expression of flavour and aroma—perfect for connoisseurs seeking detail and balance.
The Wise Man Corojo Lancero is a Nicaraguan puro, featuring a Corojo 99 wrapper and premium fillers from Estelíand Jalapa. Expect a profile rich in spice, cedar, and natural sweetness, offering a clear reflection of Nicaragua’s renowned tobacco terroir.
In contrast, the Wise Man Maduro Lancero is wrapped in Connecticut Broadleaf, with a San Andrés binder and Nicaraguan filler blend. In this format, the Maduro delivers bold notes of cocoa, espresso, and earth, elevated by the slimmer gauge to enhance intensity and lingering complexity.
Founder and master blender Nicholas Melillo shared a personal connection to the vitola:
“The Lancero has always held a special place in my heart—it was one of my grandfather’s favourite sizes. This vitola puts the wrapper on full display, allowing the richness and nuance of both blends to shine.”
Both cigars will be presented in 20-count boxes, preserving a classic aesthetic that matches their sophisticated flavour profiles. The PCA show attendees will be the first to experience these refined additions before their nationwide rollout.
