Illusione Epernay Tuonela Set for May Release with Mexican San Andrés Wrapper

Illusione is expanding its Epernay line with the introduction of the Epernay Tuonela, a new blend featuring a Mexican San Andrés wrapper. Scheduled for release in May, this cigar promises a unique twist on the original Epernay with the rich, bold flavours that San Andrés wrappers are known for.

The Illusione Epernay Tuonela is crafted at Raíces Cubanas in Danlí, Honduras, and features an undisclosed blend of tobaccos beneath the Mexican wrapper. This new release aims to provide a complex smoking experience that builds on the success of the Epernay line, which was first introduced in 2008. The Epernay line itself has been a staple for Illusione, originating from a special edition cigar created for the 15th anniversary of European Cigar Cult Journal, now known as Cigar Journal. What began as a limited edition cigar has evolved into a popular, regular production line with a wide range of vitolas.

The Epernay Tuonela will launch with four distinct vitolas, all of which are available in the original Epernay line. These include:
• Le Ferme (5 1/4 x 48)
• Le Taureau (5 1/2 x 56) – Pressed
• Le Grande (6 x 46)
• Le Monde (6 1/4 x 52)

As with the original line, the Le Taureau will feature a pressed shape, while the remaining vitolas will have a round format. Each of these sizes is designed to offer a unique smoking experience, catering to various preferences.

Dion Giolito, the founder of Illusione, shared that the first shipment of the Epernay Tuonela is expected to arrive at the company’s warehouse in Reno, Nevada in early May, with cigars soon hitting retail stores after that.
