Macanudo Gold Label Returns for 2025 with New Limited Edition Torpedo
Macanudo’s Gold Label is back for 2025, and this year’s release brings a new twist—a Torpedo vitola exclusive to the season. Expect the same mellow charm with a refined new shape.
The Macanudo Gold Label, a perennial favourite among mellow cigar enthusiasts, is making its seasonal return to tobacconists across the globe starting next week. In classic fashion, the 2025 release features seven beloved vitolas—and this year, a brand-new limited edition Torpedo has been added to the mix.
Originally launched in 2002, the Gold Label line has become synonymous with creamy, approachable smokes wrapped in silky Connecticut Shade leaves. These wrappers are harvested from the first and second primings of the plant, which receive less sunlight exposure and yield a lighter, smoother leaf with minimal veining. This delicate exterior is paired with a Mexican San Andrés binder and a balanced blend of Dominican piloto cubano and Mexican fillers.
The new vitola, Macanudo Gold Label Torpedo (6 1/2 x 52), offers aficionados a more tapered and concentrated draw, enhancing the creamy nuances the blend is known for. Priced at $13.29 per cigar or $265.80 per box of 20, it stands out as a refined addition to the yearly lineup.
The full 2025 range includes:
• Hampton Court Tubo (5 1/2 x 42) – $12.79 (Box of 25: $319.75)
• Lord Nelson (7 x 49) – $13.29 (Box of 25: $332.25)
• Tudor (6 x 52) – $12.99 (Box of 25: $324.75)
• Duke of York (5 1/4 x 54) – $12.39 (Box of 25: $309.75)
• Shakespeare (6 1/2 x 45) – $12.19 (Box of 25: $304.75)
• Crystal (5 1/2 x 50) – $13.29 (Box of 8: $106.32)
• Gold Ascots (4 3/16) – $2.61 (Tin of 10: $26.09)
Notably, most vitolas have seen a modest price increase of 50 cents per stick, with the Crystal rising by 70 cents and the petite Gold Ascots also experiencing a small bump.
“Macanudo Gold Label has always been a fan favourite, and it’s a release we’re proud to bring back each year,” said Matt Wilson, senior brand manager at Macanudo. “As always, we’ve incorporated the first and second primings of the Mexican San Andrés binder to deliver an even more elevated smoking experience. Pairing that with a torpedo vitola gives the blend a new dimension while staying true to the mellow, creamy profile fans expect from Gold Label.”
Crafted at General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, the Gold Label remains a reliable seasonal indulgence. Whether you’re a long-time Macanudo enthusiast or discovering the Gold Label line for the first time, this year’s Torpedo offers a smooth but flavourful update to a time-tested favourite.
