El Septimo Celebrates 20 Years with Ultra-Premium Doble Gran Reserva
El Septimo has begun shipping its 20th anniversary cigar—the Doble Gran Reserva—an ultra-premium blend with a $125 price tag. Limited to just 1,000 boxes, it marks the brand’s most exclusive release to date.

El Septimo Cigars is commemorating its 20th anniversary with a bold statement: the Doble Gran Reserva, a limited-edition toro priced at a staggering $125 per cigar, the most expensive release in the company’s history. This luxurious celebratory cigar has just started shipping to select retailers in the United States.
Measuring 6 x 52, the Doble Gran Reserva features an Ecuadorian wrapper, a Dominican binder, and a complex filler blend that includes aged tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, and Nicaragua. According to El Septimo, all tobaccos used in this blend have been aged between 7 and 10 years. The company also claims that over 60 experts were consulted to perfect the blend.
Only 1,000 boxes of 14 cigars each have been produced, and they will be available exclusively at El Septimo’s top 50 retail accounts. The release aims to offer a smoking experience that pushes the boundaries of luxury and craftsmanship.
Zaya Younan, CEO of El Septimo, emphasised the brand’s ambition in a statement earlier this year: “With the Doble Gran Reserva, we have harnessed the collective wisdom of global experts and fused it with groundbreaking scientific techniques in fermentation to create an experience that transcends tradition.”
Founded in 2005 by French cigar distributor Gilles Botquin, El Septimo remained a largely European-focused brand until 2019, when it was acquired by Zaya Younan. Since then, the company has made a concerted push into the American premium cigar market, positioning itself at the high end of the industry with opulent blends, bold pricing, and a focus on exclusivity.
With the Doble Gran Reserva, El Septimo cements its status as a luxury cigar brand and continues its mission to redefine the premium cigar experience through aged tobaccos, expert blending, and cutting-edge techniques.
