LaVega Cigar Co. is adding a 5 x 52 robusto to its No. 40 line, shipping June 11 as a regular production cigar crafted for flavour-first Connecticut smokers.

LaVega No. 40 Robusto Launches in June with Personal Significance

LaVega Cigar Co. will expand its No. 40 line next month with the release of a new 5 x 52 robusto, offering a new size in the flavour-forward Connecticut blend introduced last November. Like the original 6 x 50 toro, the robusto features an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper, Dominican olor binder, and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. It is handcrafted at Tabacalera Las Lavas in the Dominican Republic.

Priced at $10 per cigar or $100 for a 10-count box, the No. 40 robusto is a regular production addition aimed at cigar lovers who appreciate a Connecticut cigar with more depth and character.

Founder Aaron Paoletta took a non-traditional approach with this release, noting in the press release, “I do not like Connecticut wrapped cigars, as most are extremely light in strength and lack significantly in flavour. In order to release a Connecticut under my own brand, I had to enjoy the cigar.” He was so impressed with the initial blend that he chose to debut it on his 40th birthday—November 21, 2024—naming the line No. 40 in honour of the milestone.

The release date for the new robusto—June 11, 2025—also carries personal significance for Paoletta. It marks the anniversary of his last day working as a professional chef, when he left the culinary world at Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas to pursue life on the road with his band. The date symbolises a turning point in his life, aligning with the spirit of the No. 40 line as a tribute to reinvention and passion.

With its balanced profile and deeper flavour delivery, the new robusto continues LaVega’s mission of offering premium cigars built on authenticity, craftsmanship, and personal story.
