Juan López Lancero Adriático: New Edición Regional for the Adriatic Region

May 27, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

Habanos S.A. has released the Juan López Lancero Adriático as a new Edición Regional, marking the brand’s first appearance in a slender lancero vitola. Limited to 6,000 boxes, the cigars launched on May 16 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Cuban cigar aficionados have a new regional exclusive to seek out: the Juan López Lancero Adriático. This newly launched Edición Regional is the first time the Juan López brand has been featured in the elegant Laguito Especial format—a 7 ½ x 40 lancero vitola that aficionados may recognise from the Trinidad Fundadores or the recently released Saint Luis Rey Adamastor for Portugal.

Part of the 2023 Edición Regional collection from Habanos S.A., the Lancero Adriático joins a short but distinguished list of Adriatic region exclusives, which includes the Vegas Robaina Marshall (2008) and Ramón Allones Terra Magica(2016). The release underlines the growing importance of the Adriatic markets to Habanos S.A., with Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, and their neighbours continuing to show rising demand for premium Cuban cigars.

This limited edition is capped at 6,000 individually numbered boxes of 10 cigars each—a total production of 60,000 cigars. The official launch event took place on 16 May at the Cohiba Atmosphere in Sofia, Bulgaria, further affirming the city’s role as a regional hub for Cuban cigar culture. Local retail pricing places the Lancero Adriático at BGN 55 (approx. $31.74) per cigar or BGN 550 (approx. $317.43) per box.

Distribution is handled by Kaliman Caribe, the official Habanos S.A. distributor for Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, and nine other countries in the Adriatic and Balkan regions. Kaliman Caribe has previously commissioned several Edición Regional cigars, including the Bolivar 681, La Gloria Cubana Via Balcanica, Sancho Panza Eslavo, and El Rey del Mundo Grand Marshall—all tailored to regional tastes and collector demand.

With its sleek format, rare vitola, and limited availability, the Juan López Lancero Adriático is sure to appeal to collectors and lancero lovers alike.
