Raíces Cubanas Cigars Launching in Germany for the First Time

Raíces Cubanas, the renowned Honduran factory brand, will debut its cigars in Germany next week, marking the start of its international expansion.

Next week, cigar enthusiasts in Germany will be able to experience Raíces Cubanas cigars for the first time, as the brand officially enters the European market. Known primarily for its Danlí-based factory that has produced cigars for notable brands like Alec Bradley, Illusione, and Viaje, Raíces Cubanas is now stepping out from behind the curtain with a line of cigars under its own name.

Founded by the Endemaño family, the factory has earned a reputation for consistent craftsmanship. In late 2024, they launched the Raíces Cubanas brand with the help of Ralph Montero, former Alec Bradley executive and long-time collaborator with the Endemaños. Montero is now leading the charge in building the brand’s global presence.

To facilitate its European debut, Raíces Cubanas has partnered with Vandermarliere Cigar Family (VCF), the parent company behind Oliva and J. Cortès, for exclusive distribution in Germany.

Montero expressed enthusiasm about the expansion: “This is the first step in the expansion of Raíces into cigar markets around the world.”

The initial German market release will include two lines:

• Raíces Cubanas Clásico– A Honduran puro, positioned as the brand’s mildest blend, ideal for newcomers or those preferring a softer flavour profile.
• Raíces Cubanas C5 Black– A full-bodied option crafted mainly with Honduran tobacco, bolstered by a Nicaraguan binder from Estelí, delivering a bold and complex experience.

This European rollout signals a major milestone for Raíces Cubanas, transforming it from a behind-the-scenes powerhouse into a front-facing brand destined for global shelves.
