As summer rolls in, Viaje Cigar Co. is ready to mark the occasion with a fresh release in its Collector’s Edition series. Aptly named Summerfest, this limited-edition drop features three different torpedo cigars—Habano, Maduro, and Barber Pole—all crafted to deliver bold flavours and visual flair.
Each cigar measures 6 1/4 inches by 54 ring gauge and is finished with a shaggy foot—where the wrapper is intentionally left short, exposing the binder beneath. According to Viaje, this design choice mirrors the way we shed layers as the weather warms, making it both a stylistic and symbolic feature.
The core of each cigar is Nicaraguan, with the wrappers adding a touch of global variety. The Habano wears an Ecuadoran wrapper, the Maduro sports a dark Mexican leaf, and the eye-catching Barber Pole wraps alternate stripes of Mexican maduro and Ecuador Connecticut. All three blends have been aged for six months following rolling, a detail that adds balance and depth to the flavour profile.
When it comes to strength, Viaje notes that the Barber Pole leans towards medium-bodied, while the Habano and Maduro are medium-to-full, offering a richer experience for those who prefer a stronger smoke.
Packaged in boxes of 25, Summerfest cigars come without any labelling to indicate the blend inside. However, a clever window on the back of each box allows buyers to view the wrapper shade, adding a bit of mystery and interactivity to the unboxing experience.
