Crowned Heads Unveils Las Calaveras EL 2025 with Rare San Andrés Wrapper
Crowned Heads celebrates the eleventh edition of Las Calaveras with a striking new 2025 release. This year’s blend features a rare, lighter San Andrés wrapper that reveals new flavour dimensions.
Crowned Heads has announced the return of its beloved Las Calaveras series, unveiling the Edición Limitada 2025—the eleventh instalment of the annual tribute cigar. As always, Las Calaveras is released in honour of those who passed the previous year, celebrating life, remembrance, and the eternal cycle.
The 2025 edition stands out with a special wrapper choice. For only the second time in the series’ history—and the first in seven years—Crowned Heads has selected a San Andrés leaf from Mexico. However, this isn’t your typical dark, earthy maduro. Jon Huber, President of Crowned Heads, explained that this year’s wrapper is a mid-priming grade, offering a lighter Colorado shade. This shift reveals nuanced flavour notes of coffee, espresso, and toffee—often masked by the heavier spice and earth typical of darker San Andrés wrappers.
Produced at My Father Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua, Las Calaveras EL 2025 will begin shipping in July. The cigars will be available in three vitolas:
LC52 (5 x 52) – MSRP $14.25
LC54 (6 x 54) – MSRP $15.25
LC56 (5 x 56) – MSRP $16.25
Only 1,500 boxes of each vitola have been made, totalling 108,000 cigars. Additionally, 3,000 sampler packs will be offered at $57.95, each including one of each vitola and a sampler-exclusive Petite Lancero (6½ x 40).
Each 24-count box features three rows of eight cigars—symbolising the stages of life and the concept of eternity. As always, the bands bear the initials of four individuals commemorated by this year’s release.
With its rare wrapper, deeper flavour clarity, and limited run, Las Calaveras EL 2025 continues the series’ tradition of meaningful, masterful blends.
