La Aurora 120 Aniversario Lancero Set for US Debut This Summer
La Aurora celebrates its heritage with the US release of the 120 Aniversario Lancero. Limited to 750 boxes, this elegant format highlights over 120 years of Dominican cigar craftsmanship.
La Aurora is proud to announce the launch of its 120 Aniversario Lancero in the US market this summer. First unveiled as part of the Limited Edition Lancero Collection, this release marks a significant milestone for the oldest cigar factory in the Dominican Republic.
Founded in 1903, La Aurora has long embodied the heart of Dominican tobacco tradition. The 120 Aniversario line commemorates more than a century of León family legacy and also symbolises the first official launch of La Aurora USA. According to CEO Ed McKenna, the anniversary blend has become one of the brand’s best-selling lines. Now, it arrives in the elegant lancero vitola—a format La Aurora’s Santiago-based rollers are known for mastering.
Hand-rolled by La Aurora’s most experienced torcedores, the 120 Lancero delivers a rich, evolving flavour profile. From the first draw, expect notes of cedar, peppered cinnamon, and anise. Midway, it opens up with cocoa, creamy coffee bean and vanilla. The finish brings a delicate mix of dried fruit, tropical notes, wild honey and earthy richness.
Crafted entirely from Dominican tobacco—including wrapper, binder and filler—the lancero format enhances the blend’s complexity by using less filler, creating a more refined and expressive smoke. As Master Blender Manuel Ynoa notes, “Each blend takes on a life of its own in the lancero, offering a unique, nuanced experience.”
Only 750 boxes of this limited edition have been produced. With an MSRP of $18 per cigar, the La Aurora 120 Aniversario Lancero is expected to arrive at select retailers by mid-summer.
