Alec Bradley Launches Chunk Shade. With this, the brand expands its popular Chunk line with a new blend. This smooth, mellow-to-medium cigar offers big smoke and easy flavour in a short, stout format.
Alec Bradley has unveiled the latest entry in its bold and compact Chunk series: the Chunk Shade. Following the success of the Chunk Maduro, this new release swaps dark intensity for a silky, mellow character while maintaining the same short, chunky shape smokers have come to love. Both lines have been developed by Alec Bradley after the sale of the company to STG, in early 2023. Before the sale, Alec Bradley founder Alan Rubin had a big hand in all the new blends. STG did not specify who’s responsible for the new Alec Bradley blends.
Handcrafted at the HATSA factory in Danlí, Honduras, Chunk Shade features a carefully selected blend. The Honduran Connecticut wrapper sits over a U.S. Broadleaf binder, with filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Nicaragua. The result is a creamy, layered smoke with flavour notes of tea leaves, hay, and toast. Despite the mellow profile, the cigar produces impressive smoke output and satisfying depth.

Chunk Shade is available in three chunky vitolas:

The XL and 3XL come in 20-count boxes, while the 4XL is presented in boxes of 18.
The Chunk Shade began shipping to retailers on 7 July 2025, offering a new flavour experience in the beloved chunky format. With this release, Alec Bradley proves that short, stout cigars can be smooth, mellow, and packed with flavour.
