CAO Launches Affordable ‘Surplus’ Cigar Line for Everyday Enjoyment
CAO has unveiled the new Surplus range—three blends crafted to offer quality cigars at wallet-friendly prices. These handmade cigars are ideal for smokers seeking flavour without overspending.
CAO Aims for Accessibility with Surplus
In a cigar market increasingly dominated by premium pricing, CAO has taken a bold step. With the launch of Surplus by CAO, the brand reaffirms its commitment to quality and accessibility. The Surplus line introduces a trio of blends—Shade, Maduro, and Sweet—designed for smokers seeking everyday value.
According to Brand Manager Cory Beardsley, the mission behind Surplus is clear.
“With Surplus by CAO, we wanted to create a cigar that gives more people the chance to experience our quality tobacco offerings,” he said. “Surplus brings our blending expertise to a price point that anyone can get behind.”
Three Unique Blends, One Consistent Craft
Each Surplus cigar features a filler of Dominican Olor and an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder. The wrapper varies by blend to match its profile:
Shade: Honduran Connecticut wrapper for a smooth, mellow experience
Maduro: Mexican San Andrés wrapper delivers bold, rich notes
Sweet: Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper with a sweet aromatic character
All cigars are handmade in Honduras and available in three formats: Robusto, Toro, and Gigante.
Affordable Price, Premium Experience
The Surplus line starts shipping to retailers on 1 August. Shade and Maduro blends come in 25-count bundles, while Sweet is packed in 20-count bundles. Prices range from just $1.85 to $2.79 per cigar—offering everyday smokers a budget-friendly yet flavourful experience.
This move positions CAO’s Surplus as a go-to for those who crave quality without compromise.
