La Aurora Relaunches Especiales in the U.S. with PCA Partnership
La Aurora has announced the U.S. relaunch of its Especiales line in collaboration with the Premium Cigar Association (PCA). The release ties into PCA’s Fall Fundraiser and reflects a blend crafted with direct input from more than 100 American retailers.
A Collaboration Rooted in Retailer Feedback
The La Aurora Especiales story began when Master Blender Manuel Inoa worked alongside retailers to refine a blend that represented both Dominican tradition and U.S. preferences. After six years of trials, Inoa finalised the cigar. The result is a medium-bodied smoke with balance and depth.
According to Iturbides Zaldivar, Director of Sales & Marketing at La Aurora:
“This product represents our commitment to U.S. retailers and to crafting cigars that stay true to our Dominican roots while also reflecting the evolving palates of American cigar enthusiasts.”
Blend and Construction
The Especiales features a reddish Ecuadorian Cameroon wrapper, placed over a Dominican binder with fillers from both the Dominican Republic and the United States. The cigar delivers lush flavour while maintaining refinement and complexity.
Vitolas and Pricing
Robusto (5 x 50) – $13.50
Toro (5 ¾ x 54) – $14.50
Corona Gorda (6 x 47) – $14.00
Gran Toro (6 x 58) – $15.00
Partnership with PCA
Joshua Habursky, CEO of the PCA, highlighted the significance of the relaunch:
“This is the second year we’ve launched a major collaboration at our fall fundraiser, and we are proud of both the partnership with La Aurora and the product itself.”
Attendees of the PCA Fall Fundraiser on 11 September will be the first to try the Especiales during an exclusive pairing event. Following the fundraiser, the line will ship to retailers in October. Each cigar sold will also contribute $0.50 to the PCA, supporting its advocacy and mission to protect specialty tobacco retailers and premium cigar makers.
