Trinidad Villa to Debut in Mexico This November
The Trinidad Villa, a new Cuban release exclusive to La Casa del Habano (LCDH) and Habanos Specialist stores, will make its debut in Mexico on 13 November 2025. This marks the first time the Trinidad brand has been tied directly to the LCDH programme, adding a new layer of prestige to one of Cuba’s most admired marques.
A New Vitola for Trinidad
The Trinidad Villa introduces a fresh format to the Habanos portfolio: the Julieta No.3. Measuring 6 7/10 inches (170mm) by 47 ring gauge, the size falls within the double corona category but distinguishes itself with its slightly slimmer dimensions. Like all Trinidad cigars, the Villa carries the brand’s signature pigtail cap, a detail long associated with refinement and craftsmanship.
Each box contains 12 cigars, consistent with the brand’s preference for smaller counts that appeal to both collectors and connoisseurs. The presentation mirrors the understated elegance that Trinidad has cultivated since its international debut in the late 1990s.
Launch in Mexico City
The global unveiling will take place on 13 November at Jardín Lambú in Mexico City, hosted by IEPT, the official distributor of Cuban cigars in Mexico. The following day, the Trinidad Villa will be available through La Casa del Habano and Habanos Specialist retailers across the country.
Pricing has been set between $81.25 and $92 per cigar, with differences depending on individual retail markets. While Mexico enjoys the honour of hosting the debut, Habanos S.A. has not yet announced a timeline for a wider release to other global regions.
LCDH and Habanos Specialist Exclusives
The Trinidad Villa will carry a secondary band with the LCDH and Habanos Specialist logos. This tradition has become a hallmark of exclusives created for these retail networks, signalling to smokers that the cigar is both rare and tied to the most dedicated outlets for Cuban tobacco.
There are currently over 140 La Casa del Habano franchises worldwide. Though independently owned, they are fully licensed by Habanos S.A. and must adhere to strict requirements. Each LCDH location is expected to maintain:
A walk-in humidor that meets specific conditions.
An ageing room for proper storage of premium cigars.
Lounge facilities that promote the culture of Cuban smoking.
In return, LCDH stores receive access to exclusive lines, first access to many new releases, and the right to sell rare products such as the Trinidad Villa.
The Habanos Specialist Programme
While LCDH shops represent the pinnacle of Habanos retailing, the Habanos Specialist programme is far broader. With more than 1,200 stores worldwide, Habanos Specialists must also meet requirements set by Habanos S.A., though these are less strict than those of LCDH franchises.
They are expected to promote Cuban cigar culture, maintain proper storage conditions, and represent the prestige of the Habanos brand. However, they are not required to operate ageing rooms or lounges. Habanos Specialists also gain access to exclusive releases like the Trinidad Villa, though often after LCDH shops have launched them.
The Significance of Trinidad
The launch of the Trinidad Villa highlights the continued growth of the Trinidad brand within the Habanos portfolio. Once a discreet label produced exclusively for diplomats in the 1960s and 1970s, Trinidad was only introduced to the international market in 1998. Its reputation has since blossomed, making it one of Cuba’s most highly regarded marques.
Trinidad cigars are known for their elegance, complexity, and signature presentation. With a history intertwined with Cuban diplomacy and prestige, every new release carries a sense of tradition and exclusivity. The Villa, being the first LCDH-exclusive Trinidad, adds another milestone to the brand’s legacy.
Collectors’ Appeal
At a price point of over $80 per cigar, the Trinidad Villa will not be accessible to every smoker. Instead, it is aimed at collectors, connoisseurs, and those who seek rare additions to their humidors. Its unique vitola, LCDH-exclusive status, and limited launch market make it a prime candidate for enthusiasts who track and treasure special Habanos releases.
For cigar lovers in Mexico, the November launch event will offer the first opportunity to experience this landmark release. For the rest of the world, anticipation will continue to build as Habanos S.A. determines how and when the Trinidad Villa will be introduced to other regions.
