Maya Selva to Celebrate 30th Anniversary and Lunar New Year at InterTabac 2025
Maya Selva Cigars will mark a double celebration at InterTabac 2025 in Dortmund, Germany. The company will commemorate its 30th anniversary while also premiering its latest Lunar New Year release, Año del Caballo (Year of the Horse). Visitors to the stand can expect new launches, cultural tributes, and a showcase of the brand’s ongoing innovation.
Salomón 30 Años Anniversary Release
The centrepiece of the celebration is the Salomón 30 Años, a cigar created to honour three decades of Maya Selva Cigars. Measuring 7 x 58, the salomón vitola stands out as a symbol of craftsmanship and ceremony.
The blend features a Honduran wrapper from the Jamastrán Valley, paired with a Honduran binder and a filler blend dominated by tobaccos from the Jamastrán Valley. While the company has not disclosed all filler details, it describes the profile as complex and celebratory of Honduran terroir.
Limited Production
Each cigar is presented in its own individual coffin, with 10 coffins per box. The packaging is a highlight in itself, decorated with artwork by José Fernando Espinoza. The designs merge the cultural roots of Honduras and France, a reflection of Maya Selva’s heritage and identity.
Production is capped at 2,500 boxes, totalling 25,000 cigars, all made at the company’s factory in Danlí, Honduras. No pricing or shipping dates have been confirmed yet.
Founder’s Statement
Maya Selva described the release as a milestone for the brand:
“This new release is a new chapter in our journey. We are better than ever, with a dedicated team, a new world-class factory, and the pride of presenting this exceptional puro. We are thrilled to share this moment with all of you.”
Año del Caballo – Year of the Horse
Since 2018, Maya Selva has celebrated the Lunar New Year with special limited-edition releases. At InterTabac 2025, the company will showcase the newest in this series: the Año del Caballo (Year of the Horse).
The cigar is a 7 x 52 double corona, wrapped and bound with tobaccos from the Jamastrán Valley in Honduras. Its filler combines Honduran and Nicaraguan leaves, designed to deliver a profile with cedar, earthy aromas, and notable strength.
The company has not yet disclosed production numbers, pricing, or shipping dates for the Año del Caballo, but the release continues the tradition of celebrating cultural heritage through cigar craftsmanship.
Packaging Update for Selvita Line
In addition to these high-profile launches, Maya Selva also announced a packaging update for the Selvita line, which debuted in 2023. The line features the Flor de Selva blend in a compact 4 x 30 vitola, aimed at smokers looking for a shorter, flavourful experience.
Going forward, Selvita cigars will include bands, adding a new level of presentation and aligning the small-format release with the rest of the company’s portfolio.
InterTabac 2025
The announcements will all be featured at InterTabac 2025, taking place 18–20 September in Dortmund, Germany. As the world’s largest trade fair for tobacco products and accessories, InterTabac provides a key stage for brands like Maya Selva to showcase their innovation, celebrate milestones, and connect with international distributors and retailers.
Thirty Years of Maya Selva
Founded in 1995, Maya Selva Cigars has built a reputation for combining Honduran craftsmanship with European elegance. Its brands — Flor de Selva, Cumpay, and Villa Zamorano — are recognised worldwide for their quality and consistency. Over three decades, the company has positioned itself as a bridge between Central American tradition and the refined tastes of the global cigar market.
The dual celebration at InterTabac 2025 underscores this legacy. With the Salomón 30 Años honouring the company’s history and the Año del Caballo continuing its innovative Lunar New Year tradition, Maya Selva Cigars is signalling both respect for heritage and a bold vision for the future.
