Cattam Cigars Launches in the U.S. Market

September 25, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

Cattam Cigars has officially arrived in the United States. The brand, founded by Joe Arundel of Rain City Cigar and Hong Kong Cigar Limited (HKC), debuts with two distinct blends: the Cattam and the Cattam D.

Origins of Cattam Cigars

Cattam Cigars was born from a collaboration between Rain City Cigar in Seattle and HKC in Hong Kong, a sister company focused on Asian distribution.

The brand name comes from the vision of a Himalayan yogi. It symbolises a gateway from the human to the divine, representing indulgence, reflection, and renewal.

The Cattam

The Cattam, marked with a black band, comes in a 6 x 50 toro format. It is rolled at the STG Danlí factory in Honduras.

This cigar features a Honduran-grown, Connecticut-seed wrapper, paired with a Mexican San Andrés binder. The filler blend combines Honduran tobaccos from Jamastran Valley and La Entrada, plus San Andrés and Brazilian mata fina.

The flavour profile starts with cream, pepper, and almonds. As it develops, notes of cocoa, espresso, dried fruit, roasted nuts, and rich earth emerge. It delivers a mild-to-medium smoke.

The Cattam retails at $12 per stick and comes in 10- and 20-count boxes.

The Cattam D

The Cattam D, distinguished by a red band, also comes in a 6 x 50 toro. It tells a story of revival and resilience, with its name derived from the blend code that survived testing.

This cigar uses a U.S.-grown Connecticut wrapper and a Dominican olor binder. The filler combines Brazilian mata fina, Dominican olor, and piloto cubano.

The profile begins creamy and evolves into dark chocolate, subtle sweetness, earth, wood, coffee, nutmeg, roasted nuts, and molasses. It is described as medium-bodied with a layered complexity.

The Cattam D sells for $13 per cigar and is packaged in 10- and 20-count boxes.

Distribution

HKC will continue to manage distribution across Asia. In the United States, Rain City Cigar will handle all sales. The new cigars are already available at Rain City Cigar in Seattle.
