AGANORSA Leaf and Aoki Group Continue Their Restaurant Cigar Collaboration

December 3, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

Aganorsa Leaf and Aoki Group deepen their partnership with a new cigar size for the Aoki Reserve Connecticut, now rolling out across select restaurants.

A New Vitola Joins the Aoki Reserve Connecticut Line

A Fresh Addition to the Blend

Aganorsa Leaf and Aoki Group work together again after last year’s successful release. The collaboration began when Aoki Group commissioned a cigar for its restaurant concepts. The brand introduced the Aoki Reserve Connecticut in a 5 x 54 double robusto. The newest release adds a 5 1/2 x 50 robusto extra to the line.

The cigar keeps the original blend. It features an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper. It sits over Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos grown by Aganorsa. The factory in Estelí produces the cigars by hand. The blend offers balance, smoothness and a refined style suited to a restaurant setting.

Pricing and Limited Production

Aoki Teppanyaki in Miami serves as the primary retail point for the cigar. The robusto extra sells for $17 per cigar or $150 per box of 10. Aganorsa produced only 200 boxes, making the release a limited opportunity for diners and collectors.

Aoki Group’s Growing Culinary Footprint

A Family with Strong Hospitality Roots

Aoki Group manages 13 restaurant concepts across the United States. Many operate in Hawaii, but the group also maintains locations in Miami and Las Vegas. The company belongs to Kevin Aoki, a well-known restaurateur. His father, Hiroaki “Rocky” Aoki, founded Benihana and built a legacy in hospitality. Rocky also pursued extreme sports. He gained attention for powerboat racing and for joining a four-man team that became the first to cross the Pacific Ocean by balloon.

Benihana does not belong to the Aoki Group despite the shared family name.

Connections Beyond the Restaurant World

Kevin Aoki is the brother of Steve Aoki, the global music producer and DJ. The family maintains strong creative influence across food, entertainment and lifestyle. The ongoing cigar collaboration highlights that broad cultural reach.
