The First Figurado in the Late Hour Range
Davidoff Cigars continues to enrich its Winston Churchill collection with the release of a Belicoso for The Late Hour Series. The company plans to introduce this medium-filler figurado in early 2026. It becomes the first figurado in the series and aims to offer aficionados a shorter but equally expressive experience.
Sir Winston Churchill remains one of the world’s most recognisable cigar personalities. His complex life as a leader, traveller and thinker inspired the creation of the Davidoff Winston Churchill range. The full collection honours his many facets through blends that span mornings, evenings and everything in between. The cigars use tobaccos from Ecuador, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Each format reflects a different aspect of Churchill’s character.
“The Original Series” delivers medium-intensity cigars suited to daytime use. “The Late Hour Series” takes a different path. It draws inspiration from Churchill’s habit of working late into the night. These cigars offer richer blends and deeper flavour. The Late Hour blends feature Condega Visus tobacco aged in premium whisky casks. This ageing process adds complexity and depth to the cigar’s profile and supports an evening of thoughtful enjoyment.
Belicoso Format and Blend Details

Edward Simon, CSMO at Oettinger Davidoff, highlighted the significance of the new release. He noted the growing demand for cigars that offer shorter smoking times without sacrificing depth. The Belicoso responds to that demand. Simon described the format as versatile and well suited for moments when time is scarce yet the desire for an exceptional cigar remains.
The Belicoso arrives in a matte tin of four cigars. The design echoes the black and gold style of the Late Hour rings. The tin is compact, elegant and easy to carry.
Taste Experience in a Refined Format
The tapered head of the Belicoso focuses the blend’s complexity. This shape amplifies flavour delivery and creates a dense, controlled expression. Initial notes of black coffee lead the profile. Fresh spice from the Nicaraguan fillers follows. Undertones of leather weave through chocolate and cream, while the whisky cask-aged Condega Visus adds richness. Black pepper, oak and a distinct malt character conclude the experience. The cigar offers 20 to 30 minutes of concentrated enjoyment.
