J.C. Newman Releases Limited Diamond Crown 130th Anniversary Humidor

December 12, 2025 Inspector X 2 min read

J.C. Newman has begun shipping its Diamond Crown 130th Anniversary Humidor. Only 130 retailers will receive the limited edition, each filled with 130 rare cigars.

J.C. Newman Marks 130 Years with Exclusive Anniversary Humidor

J.C. Newman Cigar Co. celebrates a major milestone in 2025. The company has started shipping its Diamond Crown 130th Anniversary Humidor to select retailers nationwide. Founded on 5 May 1895, J.C. Newman now stands as the oldest family-owned premium cigar maker in the United States. To honour the anniversary, the company created a humidor that blends craftsmanship, heritage and rarity.

The humidor features a glossy white piano finish with gold accents. Custom diamond-shaped hardware elevates the design. Inside, five trays hold 130 Diamond Crown Belicoso No. 9 cigars. These cigars are rare and produced specifically for this release. J.C. Newman will offer the humidors to only 130 premium retailers. Each unit has a suggested retail price of $2,250.

Diamond Crown: A Legacy Across Generations

Drew Newman, the company’s fourth-generation owner, explained the significance of the release. He calls Diamond Crown the family’s anniversary cigar. His great-grandfather introduced the brand over a century ago. In 1995, his grandfather Stanford J. Newman and Carlos Fuente Jr. created Diamond Crown Classic to mark the company’s 100th anniversary. This new humidor now continues that lineage.

Honouring the Company’s History

When J.C. Newman began in 1895, around 40,000 licensed cigar manufacturers operated in the United States. Today, only J.C. Newman remains as a traditional, family-owned cigar factory. The company runs its historic El Reloj facility in Tampa, Florida. The factory sits in the heart of “Cigar City” and represents an unbroken link to America’s cigar-making past.

The Diamond Crown Belicoso No. 9 debuted at Big Smoke Las Vegas last November. That unveiling came with updated Diamond Crown Classic packaging. The new humidor marks the first time this size reaches cigar enthusiasts nationwide. Stanford J. Newman once described his aim for Diamond Crown Classic. He said he wanted the best cigar in the world regardless of cost or time. Carlos Fuente Jr. echoed the sentiment. He said he made the cigar for a man he loved.
