Alec Bradley Filthy Hooligan and Shamrock Return for 2026
Alec Bradley has begun shipping its seasonal Filthy Hooligan and Shamrock cigars for 2026. The limited editions reached tobacconists on 2 January, well ahead of St. Patrick’s Day. The annual return keeps a familiar spring tradition alive for fans of barber pole cigars.
Seasonal Releases with a Shared Core
Both cigars are produced in Honduras and share the same format. Each measures 6 x 50 in a toro size. Construction and internal blends remain consistent across both releases. An Ecuador Sumatra binder holds a filler blend of Honduran and Panamanian tobaccos. The difference appears on the outside. Each cigar uses a barber pole wrapper. Alternating wrapper leaves spiral down the length of the cigar. The effect recalls traditional barber shop poles and delivers a striking visual identity.
Filthy Hooligan Wrapper Composition
The Filthy Hooligan uses two contrasting wrapper leaves. One is green Honduran candela. The other is a dark Nicaraguan oscuro. The combination creates a bold two-tone appearance. It also reinforces the cigar’s association with spring and Irish-themed celebrations.
The Filthy Hooligan carries an MSRP of $12.69.
Shamrock Adds a Third Leaf
The Shamrock builds on the same concept with added complexity. In addition to candela and oscuro, it introduces a lighter brown Nicaraguan Habano wrapper leaf.
This third component creates a more intricate barber pole pattern. It also distinguishes the Shamrock visually and conceptually from the Filthy Hooligan.
The Shamrock retails for $15.09 per cigar.
Production and Manufacturing
Production remains limited for both releases. Alec Bradley allocated 2,000 boxes of 24 cigars for the Filthy Hooligan. The Shamrock sees a smaller run of 2,200 boxes containing 10 cigars each.
The Plasencia family rolls both cigars at the Tabacos de Oriente factory in Danlí, Honduras.
Brand Perspective
Bradley Rubin described the releases as a highlight of the year. He noted that the candela barber pole has become a seasonal hallmark for the brand.
The early January shipment ensures availability well before March. Retailers can stock the cigars while anticipation builds for the holiday.
