Ara’o Cigars has begun shipping Terrón Maduro, its fourth core cigar line. The release marks another step in the brand’s steady expansion across the United States.

Terrón Maduro Expands the Ara’o Portfolio

Ara’o Cigars continues to build momentum with the release of Terrón Maduro. This new line joins Yugo, Narigón, and Cebú as part of the company’s regular production portfolio. Ara’o launched its operations in January 2025 and has focused on controlled growth rather than rapid expansion.

Terrón Maduro represents over a year of blend development. The goal was depth without excess strength. The result targets smokers who enjoy richness balanced by structure.

A Maduro Blend Rooted in Jamastran

The Terrón Maduro blend centres on Honduran tobacco. Ara’o selected Jamastran as the backbone of the cigar.

Wrapper, Binder and Filler Breakdown

The wrapper is a habano maduro grown in Honduras’ Jamastran region. A habano binder from the same region supports the structure.

The filler blend adds complexity from several origins:

  • Habano seco from Jalapa, Nicaragua

  • Broadleaf seco from Honduras

  • Ligero from Estelí, Nicaragua

  • Viso leaves from Jamastran

This combination delivers layered flavours without overwhelming the palate. The use of multiple seco components suggests an emphasis on aroma and balance.

According to Hiram Diaz of Ara’o Cigars, the company invested significant time refining the blend. He notes strong satisfaction with the final profile.

Three Sizes for Regular Production

Ara’o offers Terrón Maduro as a standard production line in three formats. Each vitola targets a different smoking preference.

Terrón Maduro Vitolas and Pricing

  • Churchill (6 1/2 x 52): $13 per cigar, boxes of 10

  • Robusto (5 1/2 x 54): $13.29 per cigar, boxes of 10

  • Tronco (5 x 60): $13.49 per cigar, boxes of 10

Pricing places the line firmly in the premium segment. Box pricing remains consistent across formats.

Honduran Production and U.S. Distribution

Ara’o produces all of its cigars at Tabacos de Oriente S. de R.L.. The factory operates under the ownership of Plasenciaand is based in Honduras.

The brand currently lists around 30 U.S. retailers. This focused footprint supports availability without diluting brand presence. Terrón Maduro now joins the existing lines on shelves as Ara’o continues to define its identity in the American market.
