Monaco Enters the Edición Regional Programme

Coprova S.A.S. and the Régie des Tabacs de Monaco have announced the Ramón Allones Casino Edición Regional Monaco. It represents Monaco’s first participation in the Edición Regional programme.

Coprova distributes Cuban cigars in France and supplies Monaco. The Régie des Tabacs oversees the principality’s tobacco market. Together, they commissioned a release that reflects local enthusiasm for Habanos.

Ramón Allones Casino: Size and Format

A Familiar Cuban Vitola

The Ramón Allones Casino measures 5 1/8 inches by 55. Cuban nomenclature refers to the size as montesco. Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchills share the same vitola.

The cigar features a parejo format. It aligns with Ramón Allones’ reputation for bold, traditional blends. Pricing has not yet been announced.

Limited Production Numbers

Production is limited to 6,000 numbered boxes. Each box contains 10 cigars. This results in a total run of 60,000 cigars.

The cigar has no confirmed release date. Official statements suggest arrival within the coming weeks.

Industry Voices Behind the Release

Recognition of the Monegasque Market

Coprova co-CEOs Antoine Bathie and Damarys Maldonado highlighted Monaco’s cigar culture. They praised the expertise of local aficionados and the strength of the market.

They also noted the symbolic value of pairing Monaco with Ramón Allones. The brand carries historic weight within the Habanos portfolio.

A Tribute to Monaco’s Cigar Heritage

Philippe Gatti, director of the Régie des Tabacs de Monaco, emphasised Monaco’s long-standing connection to Cuban cigars. He described the release as a reflection of Monaco’s unique position within the Habanos world.

The project reinforces the principality’s role as a serious and established premium cigar market.

Understanding the Edición Regional Programme

How Regional Editions Work

Habanos S.A. offers the Edición Regional programme to its distributors worldwide. Each distributor typically selects one exclusive cigar per year. Exceptions have occurred in select markets.

The chosen cigar must come from a non-Global Brand. The vitola must also remain unavailable in the brand’s regular portfolio.

Bands, Timing, and Exceptions

Edición Regional cigars carry a secondary red and silver band. This band usually displays the region’s name. In this case, it reads “Exclusivo Monaco.”

Release timing often varies. Some cigars arrive years after selection. This Monaco release appears to follow a shorter timeline.

A Notable Choice of Vitola

This marks the third Edición Regional Ramón Allones in the montesco size. The Phoenicio 35 debuted in 2016 for the Middle East. The Silver Jubilee followed in 2017 as an Asia-exclusive.

The Casino continues that lineage. It adds Monaco to a select group of regions tied to this distinctive format.
