VegaFina Releases Limited Edition San Juan de la Maguana

March 4, 2026 Usman Dawood 2 min read

Tabacalera de García has added a new limited edition to the VegaFina Serie 2 line, named after the San Juan de la Maguana valley in the Dominican Republic.

The cigar is produced under the VegaFina brand, which is made at Tabacalera de García’s factory in La Romana and is widely distributed internationally. The brand is generally associated with a mild to medium profile and has built its reputation on consistency of draw, burn, and balance rather than intensity. The Sanjuaneros marks a departure from that positioning, with a medium to full strength rating.

The vitola is a double figurado measuring 52 ring gauge by 146mm, handmade by the Grupo de Maestros de Tabacalera de García. Wrapper, binder, and filler are all Dominican in origin, with a maduro wrapper described as thin and silky. The all-Dominican composition extends across all three components of the blend, making it a single-origin cigar in that respect.

Tasting notes list woody, toasted, and dark-roasted characteristics alongside dried fruits, cocoa, cinnamon, almond, and vanilla. The aroma profile includes smoked cedar, coffee, almond, and vanilla. Strength is rated medium to full, with a draw described as good, burn as even and consistent, and ash as compact and long-lasting. Projected smoking time is 55 to 65 minutes.

The release comes in boxes of 12. Box artwork depicts tobacco fields, palm trees, and bohíos, with a mountain scene running continuously across all four sides in green and brown tones.

No pricing or wider release date was included in the release announcement.
