7-20-4 moves production to Jesus Fuego
7-20-4 moves production to Jesus Fuego. The factory in Nicaragua will now produce the 7-20-4 original line. With the factory change, there will also be an update on the blend. But one thing that doesn’t change is the signature Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper. But what the new blend is? Vintage Cigar Distributors of NE, the umbrella company of 7-20-4 owner Kurt Kendall, did not reveal any further information. The cigar will debut at the PCA Convention & Trade show that starts today.
7-20-4 cigars have a history almost as rich as their flavors. Founded in 1874, RG Sullivan opened a factory in Manchester, New Hampshire. This famous factory continues to exist at the same address even today, and that address was the inspiration for the name 7-20-4. The brand produced an abundance of inexpensive yet high-quality cigars, earning the brand prestige. However, in 1963 the factory closed due to the embargo placed on Cuban products, including the premium tobacco Sullivan expertly used in his cigars. In 2004 Kurt Kendal, a cigar historian, and owner of two cigar retail stores, bought the brand and revived it.
New Director of Brand
7-20-4 Cigars also adds Jas Broome to the team as the new Director of Brand. It is not Broome’s first job in the cigar industry as he worked for La Flor Dominicana and Mederos Cigars before. In a press release, Kendall says “Jas comes to us with many years of cigar industry experience as well as years of experience in growing brands in other industries. With all of his expertise, he will be helping to provide a new direction and growth planning for 7-20-4.”
