A.J. Fernandez Blends Another Cuban Counterpart

After working with Altadis for brands such as Montecristo Anniversario and Ramon Allones, Fernandez now makes a Cuban counterpart cigar with Altadis largest rival, STG/General Cigars as well. The El Rey del Mundo by AJ is a limited edition 6 x 52 toro. It’s made at Fernandez’s factory in Estelí with a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan filler and a Connecticut Broadleaf binder.

“’El Rey del Mundo by AJ’ takes the foundation we’ve established with El Rey del Mundo and El Rey del Mundo Naturals and brings it to another level,” says Steve Abbott, directory of marketing for STG, in a press release. “Powered by a Nicaraguan-forward blend, AJ’s take on ‘El Rey’ delivers a fuller-bodied smoking experience. We believe this blend will capture the attention of smokers who might not have tried the brand before.”

A.J. Fernandez has a strong relationship with STG, as he makes many of the house blends for STG’s Cigars International such as Diesel, Reposado, and Man O War.
